I told you they put it in the closet. :(

I told you they put it in the closet. :(

My reaction upon finding my bike stashed in the closet. I can’t exactly go for a ride with it put up way over there. Ugh.
I might be getting a little bored of the beach.
But I’m loving the company. Haha… Wow. Anyway. I need to get back home and back to training. I can feel myself slipping out of shape.

ALSO GREG REFUSES TO PUT PANTS ON

I just wanted to share with you all the crazy, nasty, tangled mess that was my hair after the race. It took me 45 min in the shower with conditioner to get all taken care of. :/
And for comparison:
My hair is naturally straight and my pony tail typically goes to the bottom of my sports bra…

Sooooooo…. I may do a half iron a week after Rev3

Probably a bad idea. But a friend invited me to go do it with him. I’d get to stay a week at the beach and chill, three days before, and three days after the race

How much of a bad idea is this?

This is my home!

I live in central Alabama  and I’m attending the University of Alabama, so most of my rides are here.

However, I travel with my teams to race. (Going to FL TODAY!!)

In the summer I plan on doing the Chief Ladiga/Silver Comet trail out to Atlanta, GA one day, and back the next. That’s going to be a 200mi round trip ride. Very excited.

Cycling race this weekend!

I’m very excited! The only thing is that I’ll be racing way out of my league. I’m technically a Women’s Cat C/D, but there aren’t any places for me to register as such- there is a very small number of collegiate women racing. That means I get to ride with the Women’s Cat B.

Woo!

I’m doing the road race (2 laps, totaling around 27 mi), and the time trial (7mi).

Pretty sure I’m going to rock out the time trial, at least in comparison to the road race, simply because I’ll know how that one works.

Yay for triathlons teaching me to be strong and ride alone without drafting!!! :’]

Anyway, I’ve been stressing school a lot lately. I’m a little unhappy with it all, but I’m sorting it all out right now. Hopefully I’ll get everything together and be able to pursue something that makes me happy.

In the mean time, this race couldn’t have come at a better time. I need to relax!!!

Haha. Funny how traveling 6 hours to physically exhaust myself counts for relaxation.

I GOT MY CYCLING KIT IN AND IT LOOKS SO COOL AND I AM LITERALLY DANCING AND I LOVE IT SO MUCH

I TRIED IT ON AND EVERYTHING AND I WANT TO SHOW ALL MY FRIENDS BUT THEY ARE ALL ASLEEP BECAUSE THEY PARTIED LAST NIGHT WHILE I WENT TO BED EARLY SO I COULD GET UP AND GO ON THE BIKE RIDE AND PICK UP MY KIT AND I AM SO EXCITED

One week until my first cycling race

I’m super pumped!

I’m also pumped that I get out of my Aerobics class on Thursday. Seriously, that’s about as far from aerobics as I think is possible. The class yesterday made us do a total of 120 calf raises, 140 squats, 140 lunges, and 30 burpees. Wow. It’s great, but it hurts!

Also yesterday, I took myself on several wonderful dates. First was a scenic bike ride. Only 30 miles, just around 20 mph. So that was great. Then I took myself to the gym where we got all hot and sweaty…. in the weight room (upper body, because why not?), then I gave myself a new book and spent several hours reading. It was a great night with myself. I know how to treat a girl. ;]

Today’s swim was killer. I loved it, but it was insane. I’m also very glad that I get to skip next Friday’s swim…. it looks scary…

Anywho! I probably need some advice on racing tactics for next week. I’m the low of the low as far as categories go. So who knows what will happen. :’D

Haha I failed. I knew I couldn’t take four days off. Movement helps me relax.
Anyway, I’m in the gym on a stationary bike- studying for a cell bio exam tomorrow night. I’ve got a cycling meeting in a few hours. This is a good use of my time, I believe.

71 mile bike ride done!

1053 ft climbing over 4 hills, winds constant at 12, gusting at 20 mph.
My legs hurt :)
