It is so much fun.
I’m starting to think that if this med school thing doesn’t pan out I need to be a personal trainer/nutritionist/physical therapist.
I still want to be a sports surgeon, but that could be oodles of fun, too.
My worst enemy and best friend. Ouchie time now…
I’m super pumped!
I’m also pumped that I get out of my Aerobics class on Thursday. Seriously, that’s about as far from aerobics as I think is possible. The class yesterday made us do a total of 120 calf raises, 140 squats, 140 lunges, and 30 burpees. Wow. It’s great, but it hurts!
Also yesterday, I took myself on several wonderful dates. First was a scenic bike ride. Only 30 miles, just around 20 mph. So that was great. Then I took myself to the gym where we got all hot and sweaty…. in the weight room (upper body, because why not?), then I gave myself a new book and spent several hours reading. It was a great night with myself. I know how to treat a girl. ;]
Today’s swim was killer. I loved it, but it was insane. I’m also very glad that I get to skip next Friday’s swim…. it looks scary…
Anywho! I probably need some advice on racing tactics for next week. I’m the low of the low as far as categories go. So who knows what will happen. :’D
Ok. The getting up part sucks.
But going to work knowing that you’ve done 4000 yards before most people got up is wonderful.
Also, found out some great things.
1) Swim will be moved to 5:30. I get to sleep in 30 min more!
2) There is a group of cyclists that meet near where I live and do a time trial every week.
3) Right after the time trial group a running group meets up - many of the multi-sport people just stick around and make it a brick workout
4) My really good friend will be doing the Augusta 70.3 with me! I get to split hotel costs with him! Yay!
Rules were simple,5+ exercises a day, keep them flowing together in some logical order, 3-4 days a week, show how progress is made in the sets/reps/weights. No strictly cardio days/exercises.
No repeating the same week 6 times.
….
All 6 of my weeks are different.
That sounds really simple, but because you can’t repeat the same days exactly, you have to think about which motions use which muscle groups and where they overlap and whatnot, and list different things that work the same group on the correct days.
I swear I think my roommates would have thought I was crazy if they had been here while I was working on it. Because I don’t have any formal anatomy classes, I was just going by feel on the moves. Basically that meant that I would act out the exercise and see what I felt being worked, and what I remembered from my own workouts, and then listed things accordingly.
Wow.
I need to take an anatomy course.
On the plus side, hopefully I get an A?
x3
Roll Tide! To start down the countdown this week, I begin one of the toughest practice schedules I’ve ha since my days on the swim team. From now until next Monday I WILL get up every morning and do my 5 mi run. Sat and Sunday will get a 6 mi run. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday will all get 4k swims, and Tuesday and Thursday will get 30 mi bike rides.
The weekends will be probably double the bike distances.
Next week is average workouts Monday through Wednesday. Taper Thursday and Friday.
Oh god.
I can’t believe it’s so close!
I didn’t even think I would get a spot in the team!
I recently changed my tires on my bike, so I need to wear those in a bit… That was an adventure, but I did it myself! So proud!
Yes, I did run this morning… The run was great. The no hot water in my dorm sucked a lot.
